Step 3 of 6 in the Setup Wizard · ← Back to the overview
Your domain is connected and now you're on Email Config. This is where you set up the email address your platform sends from, so every email your clients receive carries your brand, not ours.
How emails are sent
Your platform sends emails to your clients. Once Email Config is set up, those emails come from your own domain, so your clients only ever see your business name. For example:
Client invitations: when you invite a new client to your platform, their invitation comes from your white label email address.
Password resets: if a client forgets their password, the reset email comes from your domain too.
Part 1: Choose your email domain
Type in the email domain of your choice (see the options below).
Click Get DNS Records.
Important: use an email domain that isn't being used anywhere else. Your platform needs its own address to send from.
The platform suggests mail.yourdomain.com. However, this is often already taken, for example by the email service you use today. In this example, we use another common one instead: inbox.yourdomain.com.
Suggested, but often taken: mail.yourdomain.com
Used in this example: inbox.yourdomain.com
Another good option: email.yourdomain.com
Part 2: Add your DNS records
Once you click Get DNS Records, the Setup Wizard shows the records you need to add. Add them to your domain the same way you did in Step 2: Domain Setup. Our example uses Cloudflare, with inbox.novahubportal.com as the email domain.
In this example, the Setup Wizard asked us to add three CNAME records:
Add them one at a time. Each record needs its own Add record in Cloudflare. For each record:
a. Type: choose CNAME.
b. Name: click the copy icon next to NAME in the Setup Wizard, then paste it into the Name field in Cloudflare.
c. Value: click the copy icon next to VALUE, then paste it into the Target field in Cloudflare.
d. Proxy: set the proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud, not orange). Not every DNS provider has a proxy setting, so if you don't see one, skip this.
e. Click Save, then click Add record again for the next one.

Part 3: Wait, check and validate
1. Wait 5 minutes Once all three records are saved, wait 5 minutes before doing anything else. This gives your DNS provider time to start sharing your new records.
Save all records → wait 5 minutes → click Validate
If you're confident your records are right, skip straight to Validate. The DNS check is optional.
2. Check your DNS (optional) Not sure you've done it right? Use dnschecker.org to double-check, one record at a time:
a. Paste the record's full NAME from the Setup Wizard into the search box (for example inbox.novahubportal.com).
b. Choose CNAME from the drop-down.
c. Click Search.
d. Repeat for all three records.
We want to see green. Every location should show a green tick and the same value as the Setup Wizard. If you see red crosses or missing values, give it more time and check again later.
3. Click Validate Go back to the Setup Wizard and click Validate.
After you click Validate, the status changes from DNS Configuration Required to Verified.
